Ronnie Flex, Lil Kleine, D-Double, Lijpe and Frenna seamlessly switch off on a setlist full of tracks that guided an entire generation through high school. The audience knows every word. Every beat. Every ad-lib.

But then, at the end of the show, Lil Kleine holds the microphone differently. Calmer. The audience calms down. And then the bomb drops.

The Ziggo Dome explodes. Tens of thousands of phones go up in the air. By now we know how many there actually will be: not ten, but five shows — still an impressive series, which grew in just a few days from two to five consecutive evenings in the largest arena in the Netherlands.

Why New Wave Always Comes Back

Rewind to 2015. On the island of Schiermonnikoog, a songwriter camp takes place where a handful of young Dutch artists gather. What emerges there is more than music: it's a movement. The New Wave album becomes the most streamed Dutch-language album of the year, wins the prestigious Popprijs, and literally opens the mainstream doors for all of Dutch hip-hop.

More than ten years later, the same collection of artists fills an entire Ziggo Dome five nights in a row — a total of about 75,000 visitors in one week. That's no coincidence. This album has shaped a generation.

The name "New Wave All Stars" says it all: this isn't about one artist performing a solo show. This is the full collection, together on one stage, in the formation that changed everything in the Dutch music scene ten years ago.

At Lowlands, the group performed without the iconic wave structure that made their Ziggo Dome shows in February 2026 so visually memorable.
